Jessica Cho is a Malaysian composer, pianist, Steinway Teacher & Educational Partner, music educator,  and founder of Juliette Music & Arts Academy.  Born in 1987, she holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Middlesex University, London, and a Master of Music degree from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, where her research focused on composition and contemporary piano repertoire.  

As a composer, Jessica’s works have been premiered and performed internationally in the United Kingdom, Austria, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia. In 2016, she pioneered Malaysia’s first CD album dedicated to women composers, Interweaves. Her piano work Capricious was published by Schott Music in Germany in 2022. Specialising in contemporary miniature piano works, she received the prize at the 2nd Malaysian Contemporary Composers Piano Festival 2022 for her piano study Arrhythmia and was subsequently commissioned to compose Frenzied Movements for the Young Artist Category of the UCSI University International Piano Festival and Competition. 

In 2011, Jessica participated in the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra’s MPOForum programme, where her orchestral score for a Malaysian film scene was premiered by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Kevin Field. The same year, she was awarded Third Prize at the ACL Young Composer Competition in Taiwan for her piano work Five Little Pieces for Piano. 

Her achievements and artistic work have been featured in numerous publications and media outlets, including ELLE Malaysia, Top 10 of Malaysia, Top 10 of Asia, Convergence Experience: The World @ Malaysia Airports, MalaysianComposers.com, and KomunitiKini.com.

As an educator, Jessica is dedicated to nurturing musicians at every stage of development, from infancy to adulthood. She developed and designed the Tiny Tones programme, an early childhood music curriculum for children aged 0–4 years, founded on her belief that meaningful musical learning can begin from the earliest stages of life. Through music, movement, listening, and creative exploration, the programme aims to cultivate musical awareness, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for the arts. 

In addition to her work in music, Jessica is an accomplished photographer whose work has been featured in several Leica exhibitions in Malaysia. Most recently, her photograph was selected for Xiaomi × Leica’s The Decisive Moment exhibition held at the historic Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad. Her photography, much like her music, explores themes of observation, emotion, atmosphere, and storytelling. 

Through her diverse artistic and educational pursuits, Jessica continues to champion creativity, lifelong learning, and artistic excellence while inspiring the next generation of musicians and artists.
